Beijing Temple, Dapu Township Introduction
The Dapu Beiji Temple, with a history of over 200 years, is the faith center of the Dapu area in Chiayi, dedicated to the worship of Xuantian Shangdi (the Supreme Emperor of Dark Heaven). Its origins trace back to the incense of Xuantian Shangdi brought by immigrants from Zhangzhou. The temple was constructed in the 25th year of the Qianlong reign (1760 AD) by Mr. Huang A-xie, the then head of Dapu Township, and has served as a spiritual pillar for the residents of the Dapu area for over two centuries.
