Old Tree of Grape King in Guogou Village Introduction
In 1964, farmers in Dacun Township introduced six Giant Peak grapevines to their homes in Guogou Village, brought in from Japan. Due to proper management and a suitable climate, the farmers successfully propagated many seedlings through extensive cutting and grafting, leading to the development of a grape industry in Dacun, which became known as the hometown of grapes. Currently, only two of the original six grapevines remain, but under the care of new owners over the past seven to eight years, they continue to thrive, producing an abundant harvest each year. The grapes yield three to four times more than regular grapes and have a richer flavor compared to ordinary varieties.
