Old Grape King Tree, Guogou Village Introduction
In 1964, farmers in Dacun Township introduced six Giant Peak grapevines, brought from Japan, to plant at their doorsteps in Guogou Village. Due to good management and suitable climate, the farmers propagated many seedlings through extensive cuttings and grafting, which led Dacun to develop a grape industry, becoming known as the hometown of grapes. Currently, only two of the original six grapevines survive, but under the care of their new owner for the past seven to eight years, they continue to thrive, bearing fruit that is three to four times more abundant than ordinary grapes and tastes better than regular grapes.
