Old Grapevine in Guogou Village Introduction
In 1964, farmers in Dacun Township introduced six Muscat grapes from Japan, planting them at their homes in Guogou Village. Due to good management and suitable climate, the farmers propagated many seedlings through cuttings and grafting, leading to the development of the grape industry in Dacun, which became known as the hometown of grapes. Currently, only two of the original six grapevines are still alive, but under the care of new owners seven to eight years ago, they continue to thrive, producing three to four times the yield of ordinary grapes and tasting even more flavorful.
