Taiping Mountain National Forest Recreation Area Introduction
Taiping District is home to the Nanhu Mountain Range, the Sanxing Mountain Range, and the Daba Mountain subrange, famous for its production of Red Cypress and Taiwan False Cypress. In the past, it was recognized as one of Taiwan's three major logging areas alongside Alishan and Baxianshan. The average annual temperature hovers around 13 degrees Celsius, and Taiping Mountain is often shrouded in mist, with a diverse array of tree species that change with the seasons, earning it the nickname "Paradise on Earth." The Taiping Mountain National Forest Recreation Area covers a vast expanse and includes scenic spots such as Renze, Lantai, Bailing, Taiping Mountain, Cuifeng Lake, and Sandie Waterfall. It also features recreational facilities such as Jiuzi Zai Hot Spring, forest bathing trails, and geothermal egg cooking areas. Within the park, original forests have been preserved, along with relics of historical logging operations such as cable cars, mountain tracks, and small trains for visitors to reminisce. When visiting Taiping Mountain, one can take a ride on the "bengbeng" vehicle, deeply inhale the phytoncides, and immerse oneself in the forest. You can enjoy the enchanting views by the misty Cuifeng Lake or quietly appreciate the sea of clouds and sunrise over Taiping Mountain at dawn, observing the changing ecology and climate of the mountains. During autumn and winter, the maple leaves turn red, attracting large numbers of tourists for sightseeing and photography. Additionally, mountain cherry blossoms, plum blossoms, and Taiping Mountain white cherry blossoms showcase various beauties throughout the seasons, presenting different faces of the Taiping Mountain National Forest Recreation Area awaiting visitors.
