Taiping Mountain National Forest Recreation Area Introduction
Taipei District is home to the Nanhu Mountain Range, the Sanxing Mountain Range, and the Da Ba Jian Mountain Ridge, known for its abundance of red cypress and false cypress. In the past, it was one of Taiwan's three major forests, alongside Alishan and Baxianshan. The average annual temperature is around 13 degrees Celsius, and Taiping Mountain is often shrouded in mist, showcasing a rich variety of tree species that change with the seasons, earning it the title of a paradise on earth. The Taiping Mountain National Forest Recreation Area covers a vast area and includes attractions such as Renze, Lantai, Bailing, Taiping Mountain, Cuifeng Lake, and San Die Waterfall. It also features recreational facilities like Jiuzi Ze Hot Spring, forest bathing trails, and geothermal egg cooking areas. The area preserves original forests and remnants of the cable cars, mountain railways, and small trains used in past logging operations, allowing visitors to reminisce. Visitors to Taiping Mountain can take a small tram, deeply inhale the phytoncides, and immerse themselves in the forest, enjoying the ethereal scenery by Cuifeng Lake or quietly admiring the sea of clouds and sunrise from Taiping Mountain in the early morning, while observing the changing ecology and climate of the mountains. Each autumn and winter, the maple leaves turn red on the mountain tops, attracting large numbers of tourists for travel and photography. The mountain cherry blossoms, plums, and Taiping Mountain white cherry blossoms also display a variety of appearances with the seasons, providing the Taiping Mountain National Forest Recreation Area with different faces throughout the year, waiting for travelers to visit.
