Taipingshan National Forest Recreation Area Introduction
The Taiping District encompasses the Nanhu Mountain Range, the Sanxing Mountain Range, and the Daba Jianshan branch, known for its abundant production of Red Cypress and Alishan Cypress. In the past, it was one of the three major timber production areas in Taiwan alongside Alishan and Baxianshan. The average annual temperature hovers around 13 degrees Celsius, and Taiping Mountain is always shrouded in mist, featuring a diverse range of tree species that change with the seasons, earning it the nickname "Paradise on Earth." The Taiping Mountain National Forest Recreation Area covers a vast area and includes attractions such as Renze, Lantai, Bailing, Taiping Mountain, Cuifeng Lake, and San Die Waterfall. It also features recreational facilities like the Jiuzhi Ze Hot Springs, forest bathing trails, and geothermal egg boiling zones. Within the park, original forests are preserved, along with remnants of past production operations such as aerial tramways, mountain tracks, and small trains, allowing visitors to indulge in nostalgia. When visiting Taiping Mountain, one can take the recreational vehicle to deeply inhale the phytoncides, bask in the forest, immerse in the misty shores of Cuifeng Lake, or quietly admire the sea of clouds and sunrise over Taiping Mountain in the early morning, observing the diverse ecosystems and changing climate of the mountains. During the autumn and winter seasons, the mountain's maple leaves turn a brilliant red, attracting large numbers of tourists for sightseeing and photography. Meanwhile, mountain cherry blossoms, plums, and Taiping Mountain's white cherry blossoms showcase various charms according to the seasons, presenting different views in the Taiping Mountain National Forest Recreation Area year-round, inviting travelers to visit.
