Taiping Mountain National Forest Recreation Area Introduction
The Taipingshan area is home to the Nanhu Mountain Range, the Sanxing Mountain Range, and the Dabajian Mountain Subridge, famous for its abundant Red Cypress and Hinoki Cypress. In the past, it was considered one of Taiwan's three major forest areas alongside Alishan and Baxianshan. The average annual temperature is around 13 degrees Celsius, and Taipingshan is always shrouded in mist, boasting a diverse variety of trees that change their appearance with the seasons, earning it the title of a paradise on earth. The Taipingshan National Forest Recreation Area covers a vast area, including attractions such as Renze, Lantai, Bailing, Taipingshan, Cuifeng Lake, and the Sandie Waterfall. It is also equipped with recreational facilities like the Jiuzi Springs, forest bathing trails, and geothermal egg boiling areas. The park preserves primitive forests and remnants of the original production operations, including cable cars, mountain tracks, and small trains, providing nostalgic experiences for visitors. At Taipingshan, visitors can ride on the “bengbeng” vehicle, deeply inhale the phytoncides, and immerse themselves in the forest, surrounded by the ethereal mist by Cuifeng Lake. In the early morning, one can quietly enjoy the sea of clouds and sunrise over Taipingshan, observing the diverse ecology and climate of the mountains. During autumn and winter, the maple leaves turn the mountain tops red, attracting large numbers of tourists for sightseeing and photography. Additionally, mountain cherry blossoms, plum blossoms, and the Taipingshan white cherry blossoms showcase various beautiful forms with the changing seasons, giving the Taipingshan National Forest Recreation Area a different look each season, waiting for travelers to visit.
