Wanglongpi Introduction
Wanglongpi, also known as Ruánpi, is located behind Hushan Elementary School in Zhenshan Village, Yuanshan Township, Yilan County. It is a lake that was naturally formed hundreds of years ago due to mountain floods at the foothills of Dajiaoxi. As Wanglongpi is a mountain lake closely associated with the local residents' lives, local elders named it Wanglongpi, derived from an ancient proverb, in hopes of abundant rainfall. The scenery at Wanglongpi is beautiful, surrounded by mountains on three sides, featuring a traditional Chinese red nine-curve bridge and a red arch bridge across the lake that connects the two ends of Wanglongpi, making it a great leisure destination in Yuanshan Township. Due to its stunning lake and mountain views, it became a filming location for the popular idol drama "Next Stop, Happiness," and the lakeside café was renamed after the village in the drama - Huatiancun, becoming a resting point for visitors to enjoy the lake and scenery. As you walk along the lakeside trail, taking in the riverside views and absorbing the natural fragrance of phytoncides, you can also ascend the Feilong Trail to the viewing platform, approximately 1 kilometer in length, overlooking Wanglongpi. Watching the lake's surface change under different weather conditions will provide a unique experience.
