Wanglong Pond Introduction
Wanglongpi, also known as Ruán Pí, is located behind Hushan Elementary School in Zhenshan Village, Yuanshan Township, Yilan. It is a lake that naturally formed hundreds of years ago due to a mountain flood at the foot of Dajia River. As Wanglongpi is a mountain lake, its water is connected to the lives of local residents. Therefore, local elders named it Wanglongpi from an ancient proverb, hoping for abundant rainfall. The scenery at Wanglongpi is beautiful, surrounded by mountains on three sides, featuring traditional Chinese red winding bridges and a red arch bridge that connect the scenic views at both ends of the lake, making it a great place for relaxation in Yuanshan Township. Due to its picturesque landscape, it became a filming location for the famous idol drama "Next Stop, Happiness," and the lakeside café was renamed after the show's village name - Huatian Village, which has also become a resting point for visitors coming to enjoy the lake's scenery. Strolling along the lakeside path, visitors can appreciate the riverside reflections and inhale the fresh air of nature. Additionally, one can hike up the Feilong Trail to the observation platform, which is about 1 kilometer long, overlooking Wanglongpi and observing the lake's surface that changes with the weather, providing a unique experience.
