Hehuan Mountain National Forest Recreation Area Introduction

When it comes to snow and high mountains, "Hehuan Mountain" is undoubtedly the top choice for Taiwanese people. This is precisely what makes Hehuan Mountain National Forest Recreation Area uniquely scenic. As Taiwan's first national forest recreation area, it was granted this honor as early as 1963 due to its special landscapes and alpine ecosystems. Here, you can witness the expansive Yushan Arrow Bamboo Grassland, experience a chilling temperature of 18 degrees Celsius at low elevation, easily ascend three famous peaks within the area: Hehuan Main Peak, Hehuan East Peak, and Shimen Mountain, and stay at Songxue Lodge to enjoy the magnificent starry sky at night. There are also many high-altitude birds waiting for your visit: rock thrush, crimson-collared grosbeak, fire-crowned flowerpecker, and more! The snow scenery is a major highlight of Hehuan Mountain, with the bright white snow in winter being one of the most enchanting sights in subtropical Taiwan. Furthermore, every May, the beautiful Yushan azalea sea adorns the green mountain tops with alternating red and white, resembling a snow-like fall, creating a stunning display that showcases the year-round splendor of Hehuan Mountain National Forest Recreation Area.
