Huwei Zhusha Long Introduction

Old House Transformed into a Salon: A New Arts and Culture Hub in Huwei Former legislator Wang Leping spent two years renovating a 70-year-old "Hsingya-style" old house hidden in the urban area of Huwei. This space aims to promote ecology, gender, and alternative globalization, leaving behind a historical building in Yunlin while creating a salon that promotes art, culture, ecology, and gender ideology. The Huwei Salon is located in the alleys of Huwei and features a building that combines "Japanese" and "Western" architectural styles, built around the 1940s. Due to urban expansion, it has been submerged among other buildings, and few Huwei residents are aware of its existence. Two years ago, Wang Leping fortuitously acquired this building and began transforming it into a space dedicated to deep artistic and cultural development. The Huwei Salon is Yunlin County's first attempt to integrate art, culture, ecology, environmental protection, and literature. Wang Leping stated that the salon preserves the beauty of this old building while incorporating modern artistic creations to showcase a spirit of reflection and discussion, preserving a public building in Yunlin that is worth savoring.
