Lioufang Tian Shang Sheng Mu Introduction
The Moving Temple, commonly known as Liufang Ma, serves the beliefs of towns such as Douliu, Huwei, Dou-Nan, Dapi, and Tuku in Yunlin, as well as the 36 villages of Wugu. It does not have a fixed temple; the statue of Mazu moves with the furnace master. Every year in the lunar calendar's fourth month, a ritual for crossing the furnace takes place, with tens of thousands of people moving together with Mazu. This event is currently managed by the Republic of China Liufang Ma Association.
