Yuan Shun Sesame Oil Factory Introduction
【Evaluation Validity Period: 2023/06/20~2026/06/19】 Originating from the late Qing Dynasty, the Wu family ancestors have been operating a flour milling and noodle making business in the Tuku Township of Yunlin County, using the name "Yuan Shun" as their signboard, passed down through generations, now with a history of over a hundred years. In 1967, Mr. Wu Wuxiong took over the oil business from his ancestors and established the Yuan Shun Oil Factory, specializing in the manufacturing of edible oils. Due to business development needs, in 1978, they applied for registration with the Ministry of Economic Affairs, officially establishing Zhu Hui Industrial Co., Ltd., and set up marketing branches in Taipei, Taichung, Yunlin, and Pingtung over the years, developing customers with sales points spread throughout the province. Since 1989, they have offered free edible oil workshops such as training for cooperatives and local health food stores like Cotton Field, and have become an approved learning factory for Yunlin County’s nine-year consistent curriculum on healthy eating for elementary school teachers. We are willing to share our expertise and experience with the public. In 2007, a specialized designer was hired to meticulously create the Sesame Cultural Life Museum, and in 2010, in cooperation with National Yunlin University of Science and Technology, the Yuan Shun Sesame Tourist Oil Factory was officially planned. The factory features historical photos and displays of ancient oil-making tools, allowing you to step into a time tunnel and browse through the origin story of "Yuan Shun," and how it has persevered in the belief of "only producing products that are beneficial to human health," witnessing its growth and development. There are also large posters by Mrs. Wu promoting a healthy lifestyle. Shoppers can enjoy local specialties while absorbing health information, with a variety of sesame products available for selection.
