Dongyong Lighthouse (Dongyin Island Lighthouse) Introduction
The Dongyin Lighthouse is located at the eastern tip of Dongyin Island in the Shihwei Mountain area. It is one of Taiwan's most representative border lighthouses. Built during the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty, the lighthouse stands on a cliff with a white tower and dome shape, guiding countless vessels traveling between the East China Sea and the Taiwan Strait for over a hundred years. The terrain around the lighthouse is steep with an expansive view, overlooking the Dongyin coastline, the One Line Sky, and the Brave Woman's Tomb, among other magnificent landscapes. It is the most iconic landmark of Dongyin and a must-visit spot to appreciate the horizon and the beauty of the islands.
