Fuyuan Forest Recreation Area Introduction
Butterfly Valley Hot Spring Resort is located within the Fuyuan National Forest Recreation Area. It features a design characterized by the elements of nature and modern minimalism, heavily utilizing top-quality natural stones and woods from Hualien to cleverly situate its guest rooms deep within the national forest. Fuyuan Butterfly Valley is a recreational area dominated by camphor trees, with a camphor tree plantation covering an area of 70 hectares, which releases a significant amount of phytoncides and camphor oil, highly beneficial to human health, making it an ideal forest bathing spot. The environment here is pristine and natural, providing a high-quality habitat for butterflies to thrive. The best time for butterfly watching is between March and August, when over 30 species of butterflies dance gracefully in the forest. Additionally, from March to May and September to November, it is the season to admire the Black-winged Firefly and Taiwanese Window Firefly. At dusk, thousands of sparkling fireflies can be seen, creating a breathtaking spectacle! Besides the camphor trees and butterflies, the steep valley terrain of Fuyuan Butterfly Valley is also spectacular, with towering rocks and boulders visible throughout the streams, where crystal-clear waters rush energetically between massive stones. The hiking trails within the area offer a spiritual cleanse through the forest and are equipped with pavilions, observation decks, and recreational facilities, making it an excellent place for leisure and relaxation.
