Ameen Theatre Introduction
The internationally renowned Cloud Gate Dance Theatre of Taiwan suffered a devastating fire in 2008 that destroyed its original metal-roof rehearsal space rented in Bali. Subsequently, through collaboration with the New Taipei City Government, a new Cloud Gate Theater was created at the site of the former Central Broadcasting Station's Tamsui branch, integrating the existing architecture. The theater officially opened on April 24, 2015. Located between the Tamsui Golf Course and the Huwei Fort, the Cloud Gate Theater offers stunning views of Guanyin Mountain and the Tamsui River estuary, with its façade made of light green glass reflecting the surrounding tall trees, seamlessly blending into the tranquil green landscape. The theater regularly hosts publicly ticketed performances that can be checked online, and guided tours of the park are available by reservation via phone. Additionally, the park features many art installations, including internationally acclaimed works by master sculptor Ju Ming, such as his "Local Series," "Tai Chi Series," and "Human Series." Furthermore, the large tree bookstore within the park combines a bookstore and café, where visitors can enjoy carefully selected Cloud Gate recommended books and unique cultural products developed exclusively by the dancers, as well as sample the signature hand-poured coffee and house-brewed sunlight beer. Additionally, the Huayu Restaurant by the lotus pond offers delicious soup dumplings, exquisite new tea creations, and the world-famous pearl milk tea, waiting for you to savor. The main building of Cloud Gate Theater is very beautiful, with its light green glass façade reflecting the surrounding tall trees. Not only is it aesthetically pleasing and environmentally friendly, but it is also recommended to capture photos that include the green-tinted glass against the backdrop of the blue sky.
