Taichung High Speed Rail Station Introduction
Taichung High-Speed Rail Station, commonly known as Wuri Station, is located in Wuri District, Taichung City, Taiwan. It is a railway station on Taiwan's High-Speed Rail network. The station is adjacent to the Taiwan Railway Administration's New Wuri Station on the Taichung Line. Since 2010, it has surpassed Zuoying Station to become the second-busiest station in terms of passenger traffic, following Taipei Main Station. Taichung High-Speed Rail Station features two island platforms and six tracks, with the two central tracks being pass-through lines without platforms. The station covers a total area of approximately 12 hectares and has a total floor area of 110,000 square meters. Compared to other high-speed rail stations, Taichung Station has a distinctive feature; due to its location at the border of Taichung City and Changhua, the surrounding area lacks bustling markets and shopping centers. As a result, the station hosts many well-known chain restaurants and souvenir shops, making it a popular spot on weekends for leisure visitors who are not just there to catch a train. The station has a total of 10 exits, with exits 1 to 4 located on the second floor and exits 5 to 7 on the first floor. There is also an unnumbered exit that primarily connects to the station plaza, parking lot for vehicles, public transportation waiting area, and transfer station, along with other surrounding facilities. Each station exit is equipped with signs displaying a list of nearby buildings and facilities.
