Taichung High Speed Rail Station Introduction
Taichung High-Speed Rail Station, commonly known as Wuri High-Speed Rail Station, is located in the Wuri District of Taichung City, Taiwan. This station is adjacent to the New Wuri Station on the Taiwan Railway Administration's Taichung Line. Since 2010, it has surpassed Zuoying Station to become the second-busiest station in terms of passenger volume, next to Taipei Station. Taichung High-Speed Rail Station features two island platforms and six elevated tracks, with two central tracks that do not have platforms for through trains. The total base area of the station is approximately 12 hectares, and the total floor area of the station building is 110,000 square meters. Unlike many other high-speed rail stations, Taichung Station has a unique characteristic due to its location on the border of Taichung City and Changhua, an area lacking lively markets and shopping malls. The station houses many well-known chain restaurants and souvenir shops, which often attract a significant number of leisure visitors on weekends, not only those traveling. The station has 10 exits, with Exits 1 to 4 located on the second floor, Exits 5 to 7 on the first floor, and one unnumbered exit primarily leading to the station plaza, parking lots, public transport waiting areas, and transfer stations along with other surrounding facilities. Each station exit has signboards displaying lists of nearby buildings and facilities.
