【Evaluation Validity Period: 2025/09/18~2028/09/17】The Wuri Brewery is located by the Wuri River in Wuri District, adjacent to the Taichung High-Speed Rail Station. It is the only research and production facility for Taiwan Tobacco and Liquor Corporation’s beer series. Here, visitors can enjoy scenic views of the beer brewing and packaging processes, and see one of the world's few copper mash tuns, while experiencing the full range of fresh beer products. Wuri Brewery is one of the three major breweries of the company. In the 1960s, it was planned and built by the Provincial Tobacco and Liquor Bureau to meet the market demand in central and southern Taiwan, completing construction and production in September 1968. After several expansions, the current annual production reaches 100 million liters, equivalent to 16 million cases of 0.6-liter bottles. In 2003, to carry on the glorious history of Taiwan Beer and to foster innovation, a beer research and development center was established, introducing the Gold Medal Taiwan Beer, which created a new milestone for Taiwan Beer. Subsequently, fruit beer series were launched, trending widely, making it a key production site for beer research and development. Additionally, to enhance quality, the brewery has passed ISO9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, ISO22000, TQF certifications and the Ministry of Finance's quality alcoholic beverage certification. The brewery is conveniently located by the Wuri River and near the Taichung High-Speed Rail Station, with easy access to national highways and rapid transit roads. Visitors can enjoy the beer brewing and packaging processes, see the rare copper mash tuns and artifacts, and experience the full range of fresh beer products. The Wuri Brewery, which is located in Wuri District, Taichung City, aims to develop tourism by cooperating with local resources in conjunction with the Central and Changhua Expressway and the high-speed rail. Given its advanced beer research and development technologies and intact artifact preservation, the Wuri Brewery is set to develop into a "Beer Village." The brewery was originally named the Zhongxing Brewery, with its previous site being the Wuri Sugar Factory of the Taiwan Sugar Corporation. The launch of Gold Medal Beer marked a new milestone for Taiwan Beer and established Wuri Brewery's path toward becoming a beer research and development center, passing GMP factory certification. Since starting production in 1966, every aspect from raw materials, water quality, processes to finished products has undergone strict quality control, making its beer well-loved by locals and also a favorite for foreign visitors to Taiwan. In 2003, the brewery developed Gold Medal Beer, marking a significant milestone towards becoming a beer research and development center. In 2004, the beer research and development center was officially established, promoting local culture while the Wuri Brewery works to develop tourism while preserving beer research and development technologies and artifacts. ♦Excessive drinking is harmful to health♦♦Don’t drink and drive; don’t drive after drinking♦♦No alcohol for those under the age of eighteen♦
