Longqi Wenheng Temple Introduction

Wenheng Shengdi (also known as Guanshengdi Jun and affectionately referred to as "Guan Gong") is a well-known deity among the people of Taiwan. But what if the protectors next to Wenheng Shengdi were characters from the Avengers? Located in the winding mountains of Longqi, Wenheng Temple is a place of vibrant worship. Inside the large temple, alongside the typical Taoist deities and ceremonial artifacts, there stand life-sized statues of heroes such as Iron Man, Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, and the Hulk. Each statue is about half a story tall and is affectionately referred to by the temple as the guardians of the deity, collectively protecting the temple and attracting a different kind of "pilgrim." In recent years, there has been an additional reason to visit Wenheng Temple. The "Kongshan Festival," held in the winter, has reached its second edition as of 2020. Starting from Wenheng Temple, visitors can venture into the nearby Huxing Mountain Park, where they can experience the charm of light and shadow art installations in the darkness of the night. The nearby plaza and old houses also transform during the festival, becoming a marketplace and decorative art space, showcasing both the new and old aspects of Longqi.
