Beigang Story House Introduction
Beigang Story House was grandly opened on March 23, 2012, with the purpose of promoting the benevolent spirit of Mazu, preserving local cultural heritage that is at risk of vanishing, gathering inherent craftsmen and artists, injecting new vitality, and collaborating with enthusiastic individuals to authentically present the enduring local characteristics. It also provides folklorists with opportunities to study and reflect on ancient artifacts. Beigang Story House is a public welfare-oriented place that aligns with the mission of Chaotian Temple. For instance, Taiwanese student Wu Jianheng, with the support of Chaotian Temple and this house, has been actively promoting Mazu culture across Asia, Africa, and South America through traditional folk culture such as the Taiwanese San Taizi deity figures and Bājājiang masks, embarking on national diplomacy. In the future, it aims to broaden its scope, with the hope that Beigang Mazu can shine on the international folk stage.
