Beigang Story House Introduction
Beigang Story Museum was grandly opened on March 23, 2012, with the purpose of promoting the compassionate spirit of Mazu, preserving the local cultural heritage that is at risk of being lost, gathering skilled artisans and artists, infusing new vitality, and collaborating with enthusiastic individuals to present the long-standing local characteristics in their original form and flavor, providing folklore historians with opportunities for examining and reflecting on ancient artifacts. The Beigang Story Museum is a public-oriented venue that aligns with the mission of the Chaotian Temple. For instance, Taiwanese scholar Wu Jianheng, with the support of both the Chaotian Temple and the museum, has promoted Mazu culture through traditional folk cultural elements such as the Three Princes deity dolls and Bajiang (traditional performers) masks across Asia, Africa, and South America, initiating cultural diplomacy. In the future, efforts will be expanded with the hope that Beigang Mazu can shine on the international folk stage.
