湖口溼地

This wetland grassland ecological area located on the section of Lukou Village Road in Kouhu Township, Yunlin County, was originally a farm owned by Taiwan Sugar Corporation. After being struck by Typhoon Wayne in 1986, seawater inundation made it impossible to continue cultivating the vast fields of sugarcane. After years of abandonment, nature has transformed the land into a paradise for wild plants in the harsh environment, without human modification or planting. It coexists with the wetland recreational area planned by the local government, creating a unique rustic character.

Hukou Wetlands Introduction

This wetland grassland ecological area located in Hukou Village, Kouhu Township, Yunlin County, was originally a Taiwan Sugar Corporation farm. After being struck by Typhoon Wayne in 1986, the saltwater intrusion rendered large areas of the initially sugarcane-planted farmland uncultivable. After years of abandonment, nature transformed the harsh environment into a paradise of wild plants, devoid of human modification or cultivation. Combined with the wetland recreational park planned by the local government, it has formed another kind of rural character.
