Hukou Wetlands Introduction
This wetland grassland ecological area located in Hukou Village, Kouhu Township, Yunlin County, was originally a farming area of Taiwan Sugar Corporation. After being hit by Typhoon Wayne in 1986, seawater inundation made it impossible to continue cultivating the large fields that originally grew sugarcane. After years of fallowing, nature has washed over the land, creating a paradise for wild plants in harsh conditions. Without artificial modifications or planting, this area has formed a unique rural character combined with the wetland recreation park planned by the local government.
