Shuziak Catholic Church Introduction
The first Catholic church in Yunlin, Shuzijiao Catholic Church, is located on the southern bank of the Zhuoshui River. During the Guangxu period, the believers of the Shuzijiao settlement invited Father Giuseppe Loggia from the Luocuo Catholic Church to preach here, renting a simple bamboo hut as a temporary mission site, marking the beginning of its establishment and the spread of Catholicism in Yunlin County. Shuzijiao Catholic Church, built during the Qing Guangxu period, was converted into a brick structure in the 19th year of the Republic of China. The octagonal roof has a unique flavor.
