Shujiaojiao Church Introduction
The first Catholic church in Yunlin, Shuziakiao Church, is located on the southern bank of the Zhuoshui River. During the Guangxu period, the believers of the Shuziakiao settlement invited Father Gao Xilong from the Luochuo Church to preach here, renting a simple bamboo hut as a temporary place of worship, marking the beginning of its establishment and the spread of Catholicism in Yunlin County. Shuziakiao Church is the first Catholic church in the county, built during the Qing Guangxu period and transformed into a brick structure in the 19th year of the Republic of China.
