Shibi Village - Mukma Ancient Trail Introduction
Located in Gukeng Township, Yunlin County, it is the highest mountain village in Yunlin. The Shibi Wooden Horse Ancient Path has long been a stunning spot for a few visitors. The vegetation along the ancient path is currently dense and serves a protective function, so low-impact development is adopted to promote niche, in-depth, and characteristic tourism to mitigate the impact on the local environment. The planning of the Wooden Horse Ancient Path is as follows: Wooden Horse Ancient Path Entrance Area (0-450 meters): The entrance area is the main scenic recreation point of this area. It has been renovated to include Wuyuan Erjiao Pavilion, Nongchi Pond, and a bamboo charcoal kiln for enjoyment and recreation. Native Broadleaf Forest Restoration Area: This area is located along the trail from 450 to 1000 meters and is mainly characterized by a Moso bamboo forest. Moso Bamboo Management Area: Continuing from 1000 to 2000 meters along the trail, this area remains a Moso bamboo forest. After community-managed bamboo thinning and the establishment of viewing platforms, it presents a different landscape. Cedar Management Area: This area stretches from 2000 to 2400 meters along the trail and is characterized by a mixed forest of cedar, Moso bamboo, and broadleaf trees. At the end of the trail, there is a high-altitude bamboo and wood boardwalk, allowing visitors to view the cedar forest from above, offering a comprehensive view of the ancient path ruins, as if one could traverse through the winding forest.
