Douliou Sacred Rose Cathedral Introduction
The origin of the Catholic Church in Douliu dates back to the eighth year of the Guangxu Emperor, when Wang Lingmu and Father Johannes Hang established a mission in Douliu, marking the official introduction of Catholicism to the area. The St. Rose Catholic Church is the origin of the church's establishment. The current church was rebuilt in 1953 under the leadership of Bishop Niu Huaiqing, featuring a Baroque-style architecture with a distinctive high vaulted ceiling.
