Zhongping Vegetarian House Introduction
The restaurant was established in 1959 by founder Huang Jingxing and his wife Wu Shimei, who together opened Zhongping Vegetarian House in the Zhongli Railway Station commercial area. It has nearly reached its sixtieth anniversary. Initially starting as a noodle stand, Grandma Wu Shimei's signature vegetarian mixed noodle dish has become a common memory for students in the roundabout commercial area during the 1980s and 1990s. In a time when vegetarian cuisine was not well developed, all vegetarian ingredients were self-developed and made (signature vegetarian fish, vegetarian cod, mushroom chicken rolls, vegetarian liver, lion's head, red yeast vegetarian meat). To this day, the restaurant insists on making everything on their own without outsourcing, especially the signature sweet and sour vegetarian fish, which is well known and is the best offering for vegetarians during festivals for worshiping gods and ancestors. Currently, the business offers: catering for banquets, vegetarian New Year dishes, various stir-fried dishes, economical set meals, customized bento boxes, delivery of banquet dishes, exquisite set meals, baked rice and noodles, and personal light meals, among many consumption models for customers to choose from. The restaurant is also insured with a public liability insurance of 10 million NT dollars, ensuring customers can eat with peace of mind.
