A-Song Stinky Tofu Introduction
"Ah Song Stinky Tofu" was established in the 1970s and is located at No. 37 Zhongzheng Road, Xinying City. The business hours are from 3 PM to 7 PM. The owner, Chen Qingsong, apprenticed under Liu Zhengnan in the triangular area across from Shijian Hall (at the intersection diagonally opposite the Xinying City Office and next to the former Tainan County Party Headquarters of the Kuomintang) in his youth, and then took over the stall. The owner emphasizes hygiene and quality in his business, constantly improving flavors and enhancing quality, leading to thriving sales. Almost everyone, young and old, in the Xinying area has tasted his stinky tofu. At that time, there was no official name for the stall; since it was set up next to Shijian Hall, it became known as "Shijian Hall Stinky Tofu," turning into a signature snack of the Xinying area. The main ingredients of the stinky tofu can be divided into pickled vegetables, dipping sauce, and the stinky tofu itself. Due to the owner’s meticulous production, it appeals to picky food enthusiasts in all three aspects, and vegetarians can also enjoy this stinky tofu.
