Ah-Chung Fried Tofu Introduction
"Ah Song Stinky Tofu" was established in the 1970s and is located at No. 37, Zhongzheng Road, Xinying City. The business hours are from 3 PM to 7 PM. The owner, Chen Ching-Song, apprenticed under Liu Zheng-Nan in the triangular area across from Shijiantang (near the intersection on the right side of Xinying City Hall, next to the former Kuomintang Tainan County Party Office) when he was young, and then took over the stall. The owner places great importance on hygiene and quality, continuously improving the flavor and enhancing the quality. The business thrived so much that nearly everyone in the Xinying area, young and old, has tried his stinky tofu. At that time, there was no shop name; since the stall was located next to Shijiantang, it became popularly known as "Shijiantang Stinky Tofu" and turned into a signature snack in the Xinying area. The main ingredients of stinky tofu include pickled cabbage, dipping sauce, and stinky tofu itself, and due to the owner's careful preparation, it attracts picky foodies in all three aspects. Vegetarians can also enjoy this stinky tofu.
