Dong'an Bridge, Kuanxi Introduction
The Dong'an Bridge, spanning the Niulan River, is a five-arch stone bridge that combines structure and aesthetics. It was originally known as "Cai Feng Bridge" and was built in 1933 (Showa 8). It serves as a vital connection between the Kuanxi neighborhood and Dong'an Village. The Dong'an Bridge was initially a wooden footbridge that was washed away during mountain floods, causing transportation disruptions. Local residents advocated for the construction of a new bridge, hiring a Japanese engineer to design it. Laborers were then employed to gather finely textured stones from the Jinchuan area, which were manually transported to the site and constructed by the famous local stonemason Li Zhen. After decades of use, the bridge remains intact, showcasing the remarkable engineering skills and high quality of construction.
