Fengkeng Park Introduction
The vegetation of the Xinfeng Mangrove Forest is lush and green, leading along a wooden walkway to the end. Here, there is a park called Fongkeng Park, planned as the "Cypress Tree Resting Area for a Century." Cypress trees are distributed in low-altitude and coastal areas across Taiwan, and were originally used as windbreak trees, but their numbers have significantly decreased due to logging. The cypress forest in Fongkeng Village currently holds the title for the largest number along the western coast. The scenery of Fongkeng Village is quaint, with traditional Sanhe courtyard buildings nestled among the cypress trees, with the entrance beams inscribed with "Tianshui Hall." The ancestors of the old house owners and the Jiang family of Beipu are the same. Almost all residents of this village share the surname Jiang, which is why the area is also known as "Jiangcuo." The ancient buildings carry the family's history and are also one of the starting points of Hakka culture in northern Taiwan.
