Hukou Hakka Cultural Park Introduction
The architecture here is made of red bricks, featuring two arched street houses and two Hakka round houses, equipped with an Agricultural Culture Exchange Hall, a Hakka Folk Customs Hall, and a Shennong Da Di Blessing Hall, focusing on Hakka culture to guide visitors in experiencing Hakka cultural history. The tops of the red brick buildings are adorned with colorful Jun porcelain, and the round-headed square-mouthed Hakka lion differs from the commonly seen Guangdong lion, originating from martial arts as a "martial lion." The street is set up with various nostalgic children's toys and public installation art, perfect for beautiful photo opportunities; stepping into the street houses, one side serves as a local agricultural product exhibition center, while the other features an ancient costume experience center where visitors can rent traditional attire to play the role of a Hakka groom or bride for a day. The innermost space, the Hospitality Building, enshrines the deity Shennong and features a "face-changing performance" at scheduled times, with impressive sound and light effects. The Hospitality Building also has a Memory Puzzle Hall, where artists create miniature models depicting rural life, including offerings to the pig god, sun-dried persimmons, city god processions, and traditional Chinese medicine shops. The park occasionally organizes themed events such as markets and exhibitions, inviting everyone to spend a wonderful time together! The outdoor plaza frequently hosts various themed activities, such as second-hand markets and open-air cinemas. On weekdays, visitors can also experience traditional toys like stilt walking and spinning tops. On one side of the street houses is the local agricultural product exhibition center, while on the other side, the red brick "HA Coffee" serves various light meals made with local specialty products such as white rice, cherry ducks, and orange jam. For those who prefer static activities, there is a permanent exhibition of Hakka cultural artifacts in the exhibition hall, along with various interactive game facilities. The "Ancient Wedding Theme Pavilion - Hakka Celebration" exhibition on the first floor of the red brick house allows visitors to wear ancient Hakka clothing and learn about the ancient six rites of Hakka weddings: kitchen rites, carrying rites, hairpin rites, tea-holding rites, vegetable-holding rites, and washing rites, reflecting the importance of familial ethics. The Hakka round house "Hospitality Building," which enshrines the deity Shennong, displays early farming tools and a train platform, making one feel as if they have traveled back in time to experience the Hakka way of life. The most eye-catching feature is the "Memory Puzzle Hall," presenting rural life through miniature models, charming and perfect for family visits to learn about Hakka culture.
