Yihe Organic Farm Introduction
The operator of Yihe Garden, Chen Lulong, is the son-in-law of the Siao Qiao area. His long-developed characteristics as a technology person have led him to derive an "optimized" business model from the vegetable cultivation process. First, he adopts "planned planting," where customer orders have a four-month term, requiring prepayments. This means that planting only begins once the order is confirmed. Therefore, when delivering vegetables to subscribers weekly, the remaining vegetables in the garden do not exceed five bags, avoiding the issue of oversupply. Chen Lulong has diversified the operations of this farm. He has promoted urban residents to engage in farming in the countryside and has offered a course on "Organic Vegetable Cultivation and Health" at a community college, which was selected as an excellent academic program in 2010, attracting students from urban areas to come here to grow vegetables, practice organic farming, and experience rural life. He later launched single-day or half-day "Food and Agriculture Education Experience Camps," which can accommodate groups of 20 or more, attracting many agricultural associations, kindergartens, universities for the elderly, and parent-child families to participate.
