Xiluo Zhenxing Temple Introduction

Although the appearance of Zhenxing Temple seems plain and unremarkable, it enshrines the tablet of the founder of Qikan martial arts—Master A-Shan. Next to Zhenxing Temple is Zhenxing Society, which is the martial arts school established by Master A-Shan in the past. From the initial archway to the A-Shan's cemetery behind the temple, one can see the historical connections between Qikan in Xiluo and the development of Xiluo itself. When discussing Qikan martial arts, one cannot overlook Master A-Shan (Liu Ming-Shan). After arriving in Taiwan in 1828 (the 8th year of the Daoguang Emperor), he settled in Xiluo. Being proficient in martial arts, he opened a martial arts school there to train disciples, which led to the flourishing of martial arts in Xiluo. The cemetery of Master A-Shan behind Zhenxing Temple was not his original burial site but was relocated there by later generations.
