Tsai Qiu-Tong Literary Museum Introduction
Mr. Tsai Chiu-tung was born in Yunlin. He was a Holo literature writer and also a political figure. During the Japanese colonial period, he served as a local Baozheng, earning the title "Baozheng Writer." After the war, he also held positions as a township head and a council member. His writings mixed classical Chinese and Taiwanese, showcasing a strong local flavor. He left behind valuable documents as both a Baozheng and a sugar factory committee member, as well as images of the early life of the Tsai family and the local community, bearing witness to the changes in rural social culture and providing a real account of farmers' lives during the Japanese occupation. The "Tsai Chiu-tung Literary Museum" was inaugurated on April 18, 2023, the birthday of Mr. Tsai Chiu-tung, hoping to use this opportunity for the public to gain a deeper understanding of his achievements and works, and to discover more local literary creations from Yunlin. The museum is located within Xinyi Elementary School, in Wukuaicun, which is Mr. Tsai's hometown. He was a founding benefactor of Xinyi Elementary School, donating land for its establishment in 1958, recognizing the importance of education for children and community development; thus, the school's land, song, emblem, and setup are all closely related to him.
