Gouzhao Zhenwu Temple Introduction
The God of War Temple in Gouzao, known as Gouzao Zhenwu Temple, is dedicated to the Supreme Emperor of the North and the two generals, Kang and Zhao (the Tortoise and Snake deities). The temple was built in the early Qing dynasty and has a history of over 200 years. Gouzao Village is predominantly inhabited by the Tsai family from Qingyang. In the past, the Wu and Tsai families from Beigang had conflicts, and the deity is said to have appeared to assist the Tsai family.
