Wutu Power Plant Introduction
The Wutu Power Plant, a century-old heritage site, is located on the southern bank of the Zhuoshui River in Wutu Village. It was built in 1923 to supply electricity for the Wushantou Reservoir, with power transmission capabilities of up to 100 kilometers. The power plant houses three well-preserved generating units that are still operational today. The water sources used by the power plant are drawn from the Zhuoshui River and the Qing Shui River, with the powerhouse being a Baroque-style structure made of brick walls without columns or rebar. The internal machinery also boasts a history of over 70 years, making it an important asset in the development of electricity in Taiwan.
