Bulowan Suspension Bridge Introduction
The recreational service points and various trails within Taroko National Park are continuously closed, with reopening times to be announced later. The Shanyue Suspension Bridge, built during the Japanese colonial period, is the longest wire suspension bridge in the Taroko Gorge and currently holds the highest "vertical clearance ratio" among canyon suspension bridges in Taiwan. From above, the steep mountain shapes and magnificent scenery carved by the Liwu River, along with the breathtaking views, will surely capture your eyes. The Shanyue Suspension Bridge connecting Bulowan will become a new highlight for tourism in Taroko National Park. This autumn, we welcome you to experience this "thrilling" adventure journey. The "Joint Management Committee for Indigenous Resources in Taroko National Park" (hereinafter referred to as the Joint Management Committee) resolved in 2022 to rename the Shanyue Suspension Bridge to "Bulowan Suspension Bridge," named after the local Taroko tribe's traditional place name.
