Yushan National Park Headquarters Introduction
The Nan'an Visitor Center is located in Zhuoxi Township, Zhuqing Village, and serves as the entrance on the eastern side of the Batongguan Historic Trail in Yushan National Park. It primarily offers tourist information and consultation services. Before entering the Nan'an Service Center, there is an observation platform and pavilion where visitors can take a break and enjoy the view of the Laku-Laku Creek alluvial plain, or relish the gentle breeze of the valley, bathing in nature. In front stands the "Batongguan Trail Monument," which commemorates the construction of the Batongguan Historic Trail by the Japanese during the colonial period as a patrol road, holding significant historical value. The inscription on the back of the monument reflects the hardships of the construction work. The center features a multimedia room, exhibition hall, ecological interpretation center, and retail area. The multimedia room hosts five multimedia presentations daily, along with seasonal screenings about Yushan National Park, Yushan's floral diversity, and the wings of Yushan. Collectors of commemorative stamps should remember to bring their stamp books, as there are twelve unique stamps available at the center's entrance—featuring the Formosan black bear, the Bunun people, and Yushan, each designed with distinct characteristics. The Yushan National Park Management Office has established the Namukang Nature Knight Station here, introducing a nation-first Happy Cycling System, allowing visitors to connect with nature on foot.
