Yushan National Park Headquarters Introduction
The Nan'an Visitor Center is located in Zhuoqing Village, Zhuoxi Township, serving as the entrance on the eastern side of the Batongguan Historic Trail within the Yushan National Park. It primarily offers tourism information and interpretation consulting services for visitors. Before entering the Nan'an Service Center, there is a viewing platform and a pavilion where visitors can take a break, gaze at the alluvial plain of the Laku Laku River, or enjoy the refreshing mountain breeze while immersing themselves in nature. In front stands the "Batongguan Trail Construction Commemorative Monument," which commemorates the efforts of the Japanese during the colonial era to construct the Batongguan Historic Trail as a military road, holding significant historical value; the inscriptions on the back of the monument reflect the hardships of the construction project. The center features an audiovisual room, an exhibition room, an ecological interpretation hall, and a sales area. The audiovisual room offers five multimedia presentations daily and seasonal films introducing Yushan National Park, Yushan's botanical diversity, and Yushan's native birds. Visitors who collect stamps should remember to bring their stamp collection notebook, as there are twelve distinctive stamps at the center’s entrance, including the Formosan Black Bear, the Bunun Tribe, and Yushan. The Yushan National Park Management Office has established the Namukang Natural Knight Station here, introducing a pioneering bicycle-friendly system that allows visitors to engage with nature on foot.
