Yushan National Park Administration Introduction
The Nan'an Visitor Center is located in Zhuoxi Township, Zhuoqing Village, and serves as the entrance on the eastern side of the Batongguan Ancient Trail within Yushan National Park. It primarily provides tourists with travel information and consultation services. Before entering the Nan'an Service Center, there is a viewing platform and gazebo where visitors can take a short break, gaze at the alluvial plain of the Lakulaku Creek, or enjoy the refreshing mountain breeze and the beauty of nature. Standing in front is the "Batongguan Trail Construction Commemorative Monument," which commemorates the construction of the Batongguan Ancient Trail by the Japanese during the colonial era, serving as a military road of significant historical value. The inscriptions on the back of the monument give insight into the hardships of the construction efforts. The center includes a multimedia room, exhibition hall, ecological interpretation center, and a gift shop. The multimedia room plays five sessions of multimedia presentations daily, and seasonal videos about Yushan National Park, Yushan Flora, and Yushan Wildlife are also shown. Visitors collecting stamps should remember to bring their stamp notebook, as there are twelve stamps available at the center's entrance—featuring designs of the Formosan Black Bear, the Bunun tribe, Yushan, and more. The Yushan National Park Management Office has established the Namukang Natural Rider Station here, introducing Taiwan's first bicycle-friendly system that allows visitors to engage with nature on foot.
