Wooden Kiln Introduction
Passing through the tranquil local temple and绕過百年樟樹(century-old camphor tree) and soft persimmon coexisting in a large tree, you will find the famous ceramic studio in the area, "Mud Kiln." Established for 22 years, Mud Kiln is not only a countryside pottery workshop but has also been actively promoting ceramic culture education over the years. The owner, Xu Lianbin, has been involved with pottery since childhood, learning from masters like Chen Huantang, Li Chunghsiung, Xu Qixuan, and Cai Junwei. His ceramic works have won numerous accolades in various competitions. To help the public appreciate the "Beauty of Pottery," Mud Kiln has organized hand-throwing and pottery classes where visitors can enjoy the fun of creating ceramics hands-on. Additionally, on the second floor in the "Art Exhibition Hall," there are many intricately crafted ceramic creations, including tea sets, flower vases, jars, bottles, bowls, and plates, especially the creatively designed glazes that are truly impressive. Mud Kiln customizes exquisite crystalline glazes, flowing glazes, and other ceramic gifts for institutions, schools, and individuals, and can fire pottery bottles with client-specified congratulatory messages or designs, making them suitable for collection or gifts, and is worth visiting for pottery experiences. In recent years, with the vigorous promotion from the Hakka Affairs Council, the imagery of the Paulownia flower has become synonymous with Hakka areas. Mud Kiln actively incorporates the Paulownia flower motif into various everyday ceramics, including elegant colored basins, shallow plates filled with vibrant Paulownia flowers, and tea cups and dishes adorned with specks of May snow, all of which are stunning. Insisting on hand-throwing, the shapes and color styles of these Paulownia ceramics are characterized by simplicity and subtlety, making them very appealing and fully reflecting the gentle and delicate nature of the Paulownia flower. Furthermore, Mud Kiln's Paulownia tableware set (bowls, bone bowls, water cups, vegetable plates, rice bowls, large platters) has been certified by the Miaoli County International Cultural and Tourism Bureau in the past three years.
