Yingcai Academy Introduction
Yingcai Academy (formerly known as Minnan Academy) covers an area of 9,270 square meters (approximately 3,000 ping) with a building area of 1,387 square meters (approximately 420 ping). The planning and design of the academy draw on Minnan architectural vocabulary and the essence of various academies, adhering to the principles of ancient imitation and creativity. For example, aspects of traditional geography and architectural scale adhere to ancient principles, while the building's spatial structure and appearance employ imitative principles. The landscape featuring ponds, bridges, and gardens showcases creative principles. In terms of sustainable operation, the academy aims to focus on inheriting cultural classics, with cultural activities addressing history, arts, and spiritual well-being in various fields, thus becoming "living historical architecture and living cultural heritage sites." Integrating local educational resources from neighboring areas such as Qiaoqiao Township and Houlong Township, the academy is designed in a Minnan style with functions for "lectures, temple worship, and scholarly gatherings." The internal planning includes the Wenchang Temple, Dacheng Hall, lecture halls, static display areas, dynamic display areas, and open spaces, emphasizing the cultural characteristics of Minnan as a community education center. It aims to create a local cultural education center that incorporates ecological and sustainable park design and, by integrating regional educational resources, provides the public with a quality environment for learning, leisure, ecology, environmental protection, and education. The ancient saying "sitting by the stream allows the mind to wander" aptly describes Yingcai Academy’s location by the clear waters of Beishi River. Visitors can first stroll along the riverside pathway to clear their minds, then gaze at the arch bridge and the reflection of white clouds in the pond, and finally walk across the fragrance avenue arch bridge to appreciate the beauty of the red-tiled, white-walled academy building. Upon entering the entrance hall and stepping into the academy's tranquil courtyard, the worldly noise seems to fade outside the thick walls, leaving only the sounds of students reading aloud, which immerses visitors in a cultural atmosphere. This is the experience that Yingcai Academy offers, in line with the vision of establishing the academy by the Miaoli County Government, as invited by County Mayor Xu Yaochang and the citizens of Miaoli. 【Ticket Prices】 ● Full Price: NT$50 ● Group Ticket (20 people or more): NT$30 ● Discounted Ticket (Residents of the County): NT$20 ● Free Admission: 1.
