Yingcai Academy Introduction
Yingcai Academy (formerly known as Minnan Academy) covers an area of 9,270 square meters (approximately 3,000 ping) with a building area of 1,387 square meters (approximately 420 ping). The planning and design of the academy reference Minnan architectural vocabulary and the spirit of various academies, while adhering to the principles of ancient tradition and creativity. For example, aspects related to traditional geography and architectural scales follow ancient principles, while the structural spaces and external form of the building adopt imitative principles, and the literary landscape of ponds, bridges, and gardens expresses creativity. As for sustainable operation, the core aim is to inherit cultural classics, with artistic activities focusing on history, arts, cultural creativity, and holistic well-being, thus becoming a “living historical building, a living heritage site.” The academy integrates local educational resources from the nearby areas of Qiaoqiao Township and Holo Township, creating a Minnan-style academy that serves functions of lectures, temple worship, and examinations. The internal planning includes the Wenchang Temple, Dacheng Hall, lecture hall, static display area, dynamic display area, and open space area, emphasizing the Minnan cultural characteristics of the social education center. It aims to establish a local cultural education center for Minnan culture in the county, incorporating ecological and sustainable park designs. By integrating local educational resources, it offers the public a high-quality environment for learning, leisure, ecology, environmental protection, and education. The ancient saying “By the stream, the mind wanders far” describes Yingcai Academy's location by the clear waters of Beishi Creek. Visitors to the academy can first stroll along the creek-side trail to calm their minds, then gaze down at the arched bridge and reflections of white clouds in the pond, and finally walk across the fragrance-laden avenue on the bridge to appreciate the beauty of the red-tiled, white-walled academy building. Upon entering the gate, one steps into the serene courtyard of the academy, where the mundane world seems to fade away, leaving only the clear sounds of students reading aloud. This is the cultural ambiance that Yingcai Academy offers to its visitors, embodying the vision of the Miaoli County Government for the establishment of Yingcai Academy. Miaoli County Mayor Xu Yaochang and the residents invite you to experience this together. 【Ticket Prices】 ● Full price: NT$50 ● Group ticket (for 20 or more people): NT$30 ● Discounted ticket (for county residents): NT$20 ● Free admission: 1.
