Yingcai Academy Introduction
Yingcai Academy (formerly known as Minnan Academy) covers an area of 9,270 square meters (approximately 3,000 ping), with a building area of 1,387 square meters (approximately 420 ping). The design of the academy references the architectural vocabulary of Minnan and the spirit of various academies while adhering to the principles of honoring the past and creativity. For example, traditional geography and architectural scales are designed according to historical principles, while the spatial structure and appearance of buildings follow antique principles, and the literary significance of gardens, ponds, and bridges showcases creativity. As for sustainability, the aim is to focus on the inheritance of cultural classics, with activities regarding history, art, culture, and holistic well-being across various fields, making it a "living historical building, a living heritage site." Integrating local educational resources from the nearby Qiaoqiao Township and Houlong Township, the academy is designed in a Minnan style, fulfilling functions of lectures, religious ceremonies, and education. Internal planning includes Wenchang Shrine, Dacheng Hall, lecture halls, static and dynamic exhibition areas, and open spaces, emphasizing the Minnan cultural characteristics to create a local educational center. The design also incorporates ecological and sustainable principles, providing a high-quality environment for learning, leisure, ecology, environmental protection, and education. The ancient saying "By the stream, the mind wanders far" reflects the academy's location by the clear waters of the Beishi River. Visitors can first stroll along the riverside path to calm their minds, then gaze at the arch bridges and white clouds reflected in the pond, before walking across the arched bridge on the scholarly avenue to admire the beauty of the academy's red-tiled, white-walled architecture. Entering the entrance, one steps into the serene courtyard of the academy, where the noise of the outside world fades away, leaving only the clear sounds of students reading aloud. This humanistic atmosphere is what Yingcai Academy offers to its visitors, aligning with the vision of the Miaoli County Government, led by County Mayor Xu Yaochang, who invites everyone to experience it in depth. **Ticket Prices:** ● Adult ticket: NT$50 ● Group ticket (20 people or more): NT$30 ● Discount ticket (Miaoli County residents): NT$20 ● Free admission: 1.
