Jiangjiu Heji Yangtang, Yuanlin City Introduction
The Jiyang Hall, designated as a county-level historic site in Changhua County, is a large temple that retains the regional architectural style and holds special significance for the local culture and history, serving as a representation of its time. The building itself combines elements from both the Japanese colonial period and Han-style architecture, encapsulating the typical architectural characteristics of the Zhangzhou-Pinghe Hakka walled houses. It features a central hall with two courtyards and guardian dragons on the sides, reflecting the large community that has preserved the original Hakka style. The main hall's altar enshrines original artifacts from the Japanese colonial era, possessing artistic and historical value. Additionally, there remains an ancient well behind the main hall, highlighting the cultural backdrop of the early reclamation of the Changhua Plain. Source: Changhua County Cultural Affairs Bureau.
