Yuanlin Hengwen Temple Introduction
The Hengwen Temple in Yuanlin City, Changhua County, is dedicated to the worship of the Xuantian Emperor and is famous for its nearly 10-story tall statue, which is the tallest Xuantian Emperor statue in Southeast Asia. In recent years, a miraculous phenomenon has been discovered: on a small section of the floor about 50 centimeters wide in front of the shrine at the statue's heart level, standing on it feels warm to the feet, but no warmth can be felt by touch. This experience is definitely worth trying to personally witness the divine manifestation. Historical records confirm that the Xuantian Emperor statue at Hengwen Temple is the largest of its kind in the country. Inside the statue, in addition to the offerings to Doumu and the 60 Star Lords, the inner walls feature artwork created by artisans from Pingtung, depicting the historical journey of the Xuantian Emperor from Wudang Mountain in mainland China. This has resulted in the only complete mural of the Xuantian Emperor’s attainment of enlightenment in Taiwan, rich in religious art and value, attracting media coverage and a steady stream of visitors, all extolling the power of the Xuantian Emperor.
