Yuanlin Hengwen Temple Introduction
Yuanlin City in Changhua County is home to Hengwen Temple, which is dedicated to the worship of Lord Xuantian, renowned for its nearly 10-story-high statue, making it the tallest Xuantian statue in Southeast Asia. In recent years, miraculous occurrences have been reported; in front of the shrine on the fourth floor of the statue, located near the heart area, there is a small patch of floor measuring about 50 centimeters on each side that feels warm when standing on it, yet it does not feel warm to the touch, making it a must-try experience to personally feel the divine phenomenon. Historical research confirms that the statue of Lord Xuantian at Hengwen Temple is the largest in the country. Inside the statue, in addition to the worship of Doumu (the goddess of the Big Dipper) and the Sixty Star Lords, the interior walls feature a mural commissioned from artisans in Pingtung, depicting the cultivation and achievement history of Lord Xuantian based on records from Wudang Mountain in mainland China. This mural is currently the most complete representation of Lord Xuantian's enlightenment in Taiwan, rich in religious art and value, attracting extensive media coverage and continuous visits from people, collectively honoring the divine power of Lord Xuantian.
