Yuanlin Hengwen Temple Introduction
Hengwen Temple, located in Yuanlin City, Changhua County, is renowned for its nearly ten-story tall statue of Xuantian Shangdi, making it the tallest Xuantian Shangdi statue in Southeast Asia. In recent years, miraculous phenomena have been reported; in front of the altar located on the fourth floor, around the heart area of the statue, there is a small section of flooring approximately 50 cm wide that feels warm when standing on it, yet feels cool to the touch. This unique experience is definitely worth trying for those wishing to feel the divine presence. Historical research confirms that the Xuantian Shangdi statue at Hengwen Temple is the largest of its kind in the country. In addition to enshrining Doumu (the star deity Doumou) and the Sixty Star Lords, the interior walls feature murals commissioned to skilled artisans from Pingtung, depicting the cultivation history of Xuantian Shangdi as recorded in Wudang Mountain, China. This has resulted in the only complete Xuantian Shangdi mural in Taiwan, rich in religious art and value. Various media outlets have reported on it, attracting continuous visitors and amplifying the divine prestige of Xuantian Shangdi.
