Qiatong Waterfall Introduction
Qiadong Waterfall, located in the Qiadongjiao area of Xizhi District, New Taipei City, is hidden in the valley behind Dajianshan. It is the largest waterfall in the Dajianshan area, standing about four to five stories high and consisting of multiple tiers, with a pool of water formed at the base. It's hard to imagine that such a large waterfall exists in such a low mountain area. The Qiadong Waterfall can be accessed from the Fushi Mountain Villa or by following the Qiadong Ancient Trail, with the gentle sound of flowing water accompanying the journey. Next to the waterfall, there are steep rock walls, and nearby in the forest, there are stone tables and chairs where one can sit and listen to the sound of the waterfall and enjoy the beauty of the mountains and forests. The Qiadong Ancient Trail was once a route for the local residents to reach Shiding. By entering through the Qiadong Waterfall Trail and following the stone steps up, one can reach the five-story-high Qiadong Waterfall in just five minutes, where the multiple tiers cascade into the pool below. The base of the waterfall is wide and flat, perfect for sitting and listening to the sound of the waterfall while enjoying the splash of water, enveloped in negative ions and phytoncides. Continuing along the winding Qiadong Creek Valley, the sound of the flowing stream is ever-present, with moss-covered old stones and a tranquil, rustic atmosphere. Along the way, there are elegant tree-shaped cedar forests, a Tudi Gong temple, and the remnants of abandoned stone houses, highlighting the intersection of cultural heritage and natural beauty.
