Sifenwei Mountain Introduction
Sifenwei Mountain is located in the southern mountain range of the bustling area in Xizhi, named for its four-sided golden pagoda shape. It serves as a boundary mountain for four surrounding settlements and is also known as Qiedongjiao Mountain. Starting from the trailhead at Tianxiu Temple, the hike is approximately 2.8 kilometers one way, passing by the well-known Xiaobaiyue (Little Hundred Peaks) - Xizhi Dajianshan. Compared to the 400-meter-high Dajianshan, Sifenwei Mountain, standing at an elevation of 641 meters, offers a more expansive view closer to the sky. On clear days, one can not only enjoy the urban scenery of Taipei City but also see Keelung Port and Keelung Islet to the northeast. Sifenwei Mountain was also once an essential route for travelers between Xizhi, Shiding, and Nangang, allowing hikers to appreciate the beauty of nature while following in the footsteps of their ancestors.
