Sifuntei Mountain Introduction
Sifinwei Mountain is located in the southern mountain range of the bustling area of Xizhi. Its name comes from its shape resembling a four-sided golden pagoda and it serves as the boundary mountain for four surrounding settlements. It is also known as Qiedongjiao Mountain. Starting from the Tianxiugong Temple trailhead, the hike is approximately 2.8 kilometers one way, during which hikers will first pass the famous minor peak, Xizhi Dajian Mountain. Compared to the 400-meter tall Dajian Mountain, Sifinwei Mountain, with an elevation of 641 meters, offers a more expansive view closer to the sky. On clear days, one can not only appreciate the urban scenery of Taipei City but also see Keelung Harbor and Keelung Islet to the northeast. Sifinwei Mountain was also a crucial route for travelers between Xizhi, Shiding, and Nangang in the past, allowing hikers to enjoy beautiful scenery while tracing the footsteps of their ancestors.
