Sifenwei Mountain is located in the southern mountain range of the bustling area of Xizhi. It gets its name from its shape resembling a four-sided golden pagoda and serves as a boundary mountain for four nearby settlements. It is also known by another name, Qie Dong Jiao Mountain. The hiking trail starts from the entrance at Tianxiu Temple and is approximately 2.8 kilometers long one way. Along the way, hikers will pass by the famous small peak of Xizhi, Dajianshan. Compared to the over 400-meter elevation of Dajianshan, Sifenwei Mountain, at an altitude of 641 meters, offers expansive views closer to the sky. On clear days, not only can you enjoy the urban scenery of Taipei City, but if you look toward the northeast, Keelung Harbor and Keelung Islet are also visible in the distance.
