Qingshan Herb Education Farm Introduction
The Herb Garden is located at the highest point where the Shenkeng Aruyang Industrial Road intersects with the Muzha Maokong area, at an elevation of about 480 meters. It overlooks the Aruyankeng Valley and offers views of Shiding and Xizhi in the distance. Nearby, there are natural trails such as Bijiashan, Ergeshan, and Houshan Mountain, where visitors can choose trails according to their time availability and enjoy a leisurely time. Established in 1974, the farm initially focused on growing Wenshan Pouchong tea and citrus fruits as economic crops. Now, under the second-generation owner, Miss Gao, it has transformed into a themed garden specializing in the cultivation of herb plants, in line with the promotion of leisure agriculture. Covering about 800 ping, the garden not only rejuvenates the nearly extinct Red-bellied Lily but also cultivates various herb plants including lavender, sage, rosemary, European mint, stevia, lemongrass, calendula, perilla, and native Taiwanese cinnamon. Additionally, a range of herbal foods and beverages is offered, such as freshly brewed herbal tea, herbal coffee, herbal desserts, herbal cookies, and herbal set meals for visitors to savor. The owner has a passion for the natural ecological environment and has served as a frog surveyor, making the garden’s rich ecosystem a perfect venue for ecological education activities for groups, where it’s possible to encounter various plants, birds, butterflies, and frogs in different seasons, occasionally brushing past the mountain mist, resembling a stroll in the clouds.
