Taipei City Tieguanyin and Pao Chong Tea Research and Promotion Center Introduction
The Taipei City Tieguanyin and Baozhong Tea Research and Promotion Center is located in the Maokong area and was completed in 1985. It features a tea exhibition area that introduces the tea production process and tea tasting methods, providing knowledge about tea; a tea art teaching area that offers scheduled instructional services during weekdays, with volunteers providing free guided tours on weekends and holidays; and an outdoor teaching area, located on the hillside behind the promotion center, which is planted with various plants including osmanthus, camellias, cherry blossoms, and Japanese maples. It also has a family recreation area, a tea garden, an ecological pond, a meteorological observation station, and an artificial rain erosion channel, which introduce soil and water conservation knowledge, allowing the public to understand the importance of soil and water conservation. The promotion center combines agriculture, lifestyle, culture, and leisure, providing citizens with a great place for recreational activities, and guiding them to gain a deeper understanding of the tea industry and culture in the Muzha area. The tea promotion center organizes 20 tea experience activities each year, including tea picking experiences, tea art teaching, and snack making. On Saturdays and Sundays, volunteers are arranged to provide free guided tour services, while during weekdays (Tuesday to Friday), only group reservations are accepted, and groups needing it must reserve two weeks in advance. The guided content includes tea art guidance, tea garden, and ecological tours.
