Coastal Viewing Promenade Introduction
The Guanhai Long Dyke is located within the Wazihwei Protection Area in Bali District, New Taipei City, at the end of Alley 87, Section 1, Zhongzheng Road. Facing the estuary, on the right is the Fisherman's Wharf and on the left is Bali. The dyke is 306 meters long and is the northernmost point of the Wazihwei lagoon, serving as the best spot to watch both sides of the Tamsui River and the estuary. There is a military presence near Guanhai Long Dyke, which previously prohibited entry, but it has now been opened for visitors to enjoy wave-watching, bird-watching, and the scenic view. Wazihwei in Bali and the Yuchikou in Tamsui are situated across the Tamsui River, gazing at each other from the northern and southern banks, where the magnificent Tamsui River flows into the Taiwan Strait. Standing on the wooden path of Guanhai Long Dyke, one can see a stunning view where the sea meets the sky in the distance. Along the dyke, there are bilingual ecological plant information signs explaining various species such as the saddle vine and cactus. During low tide, visitors can also overlook many crabs scurrying below the dyke, appreciating the beauty of nature's ecology.
