The Fengyuan Sanxiang Municipal Landfill, covering an area of over 20 hectares, was closed in 1998. The Taichung City Government proceeded with replanting on the original site, with 5 hectares planned as the Houli Environmental Nursery. After the Agricultural Bureau actively filled in soil and improved the soil quality, the nursery flourished with vibrant flowers and plants. Following the successful operation of the nursery, the Agricultural Bureau then began the project to create a new life for the environmental park.

Houli Eco Park Introduction

Play and Appreciation Guide ◼️ Lollipop and geometric shape themed landscape design. The Agriculture Department has planned and constructed the Houli Eco-Park with the concept of flower field patchwork, completing five landscape mounds in 2007. The park features a 2-hectare flower sea area, a 3-hectare grassland area, a 3,300 square meter artificial ecological pond (for the rehabilitation of aquatic plants and fish), and a 1,200-meter long flower viewing gravel trail, among other amenities. The flower sea and grassland areas are cultivated with sowing and irrigation, showcasing vibrant displays of golden marigolds and zinnias, presenting different floral landscapes. Standing on the mounds, one can enjoy the gentle breeze and panoramic views, feeling relaxed and peaceful. The landscape art featuring geometric and lollipop shapes can also be accessed via the flower corridor leading to the adjacent Houli Eco-Nursery, where various plantings can be admired.
