The Fengyuan Sanxiang Municipal Solid Waste Landfill, covering an area of over twenty hectares, was closed in 1998. The Taichung City Government has since carried out afforestation on the site, with five hectares designated as the Houli Eco-nursery. After actively improving the soil quality and filling in the land, the vibrant nursery flourished with a variety of flowers and plants. Following the successful operation of the nursery, the Agriculture Department then proceeded to initiate the Eco-Park revitalization project.

Houlí Eco-Park Introduction

Play Guide ◼️ Unique landscape design featuring lollipops and geometric shapes. The Agricultural Department has planned and constructed the Houli Eco Park with a flower field patchwork concept, completing five scenic earth mounds in 2007. The park includes a 2-hectare flower sea area, a 3-hectare prairie area, an artificial ecological pond spanning 3,300 square meters (for the restoration of aquatic plants and fish), and approximately 1,200 meters of flower-viewing gravel trail. After sowing and irrigation, the flower sea area and prairie area bloom vibrantly with various flowers such as yellow cosmos and zinnias, showcasing different floral scenes. Standing on the earth mounds, visitors can enjoy a gentle breeze and a panoramic view, feeling refreshed. The geometric and lollipop-shaped landscape art can also be accessed through a flower corridor leading to the adjacent Houli Eco Nursery, where visitors can admire various plantings.
