Nantun Old Street refers to "Liudou Store Street," which is now the South Tunli area, originally a large settlement of the Babusha Plain Indigenous people. During the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty, General Zhang Guo from Dinghai, Zhejiang, and his subordinates recruited tenants to cultivate the wasteland, leading to an influx of immigrants. The manufacturing and trading of agricultural tools emerged, resulting in a concentration of shops that produced plow tools, forming an agricultural product trading center known as "Liudou Store Street." "Triangle Street," "Nantun Market," "Wanhe Temple," and "Dragon Boat Festival folklore activities" have become shared and beautiful memories for the children of Nantun.

Nantun Old Street Introduction

Nantun Old Street not only features the historic Fude Temple and the ancient Wanhe Temple, but also has a variety of old-style buildings scattered along the street, including historical houses and old shops, which preserve a rich historical atmosphere. The street showcases the Minnan-style architecture of "Yingtian Hall," a group of ancient houses with thatched roofs made from bulrushes. On the left side is "Qiusitang," a two-story street house, along with other structures such as "Ruijitang," "Yianliao," and "Niuxu." With an old street come old shops that have preserved over a hundred years of history. The unique architectural styles feature plaques hanging from the beams, embedded with ancient iron plates, and the house numbers show traces of history, witnessing the passage of time. Walking through this historical era, these old shops still retain the charm of their time, evoking nostalgia and allowing visitors to savor the allure of the old street.
