Haipuzhi Wangfu Introduction
Hai Pu Chi Wang Temple is located in Haipu Village, Madou District, and it worships the Five Lords of the Five Mansions – Chi, Li, Wu, Zhu, and Fan, with the main deity being Lord Chi. The golden statue of Lord Chi was brought to Taiwan around the late Ming to early Qing dynasty, and it has a history of over three hundred years. It is said that Hai Pu Chi Wang Temple has deep connections with Nantun Chia Tiang Temple, as in the past, the exchange of deities between Madou and Nantun went through Hai Pu, thus the area is known as Wang Ye Pu. The deities of Hai Pu Chi Wang Temple are revered, and the temple enjoys a prosperous flow of incense.
