Madou Lin Family Four Houses Introduction
Due to economic and political power, the "Mado Lin Family" was at that time on par with the "Wufeng Lin Family in Taichung" and the "Banqiao Lin Family in Taipei," collectively known as the "Three Lins of Taiwan." With the division of the family inheritance and urban development causing skyrocketing land prices, the seven exquisite mansions built during the Qing Dynasty faced differing opinions from their owners, resulting in some being demolished or rebuilt. The "New Four-Story House" was one of the earlier ones to be demolished for this reason. Due to differing views on preserving the old houses by the owners, a portion of the left side of the central axis was demolished in May 1978 (the 67th year of the Republic of China).
