Lin Family Mansion and Garden Introduction
Due to economic and political power, the "Madu Lin Family" was renowned at that time, along with the "Wufeng Lin Family" in Taichung and the "Banqiao Lin Family" in Taipei, collectively referred to as the "Three Lins of Taiwan." With the division of family inheritance and urban development causing land prices to soar, the seven exquisite mansions built during the Qing Dynasty faced demolition and reconstruction due to differing opinions among the owners. The "New Four Rooms House" was one of the earlier ones to be demolished. Due to varying views on the preservation of the old houses, a part of the left side of the central axis was demolished in May of 1978 (the 67th year of the Republic of China).
