Yen Shui-long Memorial Park Introduction
Mr. Yan Shui-long is a very famous painter from Tainan, born in the Red Hair House of Sinying. In his early years, he was encouraged by the Japanese artist Takeo Takeda to learn painting in Japan, and later went to Paris, France for further studies. He is a pioneer of early local oil painting art in Taiwan. Mr. Yan passed away in 1997. To commemorate his lifelong contributions to public art and fine arts, the Yan Shui-long Memorial Park was established. Upon entering the park, one can see a bronze statue of Mr. Yan standing in front of the Yan family temple. The memorial park features a memorial hall and the family temple, which showcases the life experiences and works of Master Yan Shui-long. The park has a beautiful environment, is quiet and elegant, and the Minnan-style family temple architecture is also worth visiting.
