Jiangjun River Estuary Mangrove Forest Introduction
In Jiangjun District, apart from visiting the lively fish market at the fishing port or enjoying the sandy beach at Mashagou, there is another fantastic ecological journey option, which is to head to Jiangjun Creek Estuary to appreciate the mangrove ecosystem. Once you find the Da Yuanshuai Temple, you will see the embankment of Jiangjun Creek. Standing on the embankment, you will be greeted by a vast expanse of lush mangroves that stretch inland from the mouth of Jiangjun River, creating a spectacular scene. The mangroves can be considered an important breeding ground for the estuarine ecosystem, hosting many great egrets and various water birds, while beneath the water, there are fiddler crabs and mudskippers among other shallow water organisms. The scenery resembles an ecological paradise as seen on the National Geographic Channel. If you encounter the sunset, the estuary turns into a breathtaking sight, with golden rays illuminating the entire Jiangjun Creek, and even the mangroves being covered in a layer of golden light—this is a must-visit spot when in Jiangjun.
