Mashagou 3D Painting Village Introduction
Matsu 3D Painting Village is centered around Li Sheng Temple, with artwork scattered in various corners, possibly on the main street or in alleys, allowing visitors to experience an atmosphere of "art at every turn and surprises in every lane," which is different from typical painting villages. Walking into Matsu 3D Painting Village feels like entering a fantastical world, with the walls and floors adorned with whimsical and locally inspired fishing village-themed paintings that leave visitors in awe. The rich and simple lifestyle and warmth of the village further contribute to a magical realism atmosphere. Among the most characteristic and stunning paintings is "A Pegasus in the Sky," located right in front of Li Sheng Temple; this artwork is an impressive two stories high. Matsu is the hometown of Mr. Wu Ching-yu, the founder of Eslite Bookstore, which is also reflected in another painting titled "Reading is Beneficial," portraying stacked books forming a wall, with calligraphy serving as a bridge, embodying the essence of Eslite culture. The playful artistic style showcases the unique charm of Matsu's fishing village, and nearby are works like "Meow Meow Loves to Eat Mullets," "Hippo Gazing at the Moon," and "Kitten Drying Fish." Whether it’s the giant octopus or mullet roe, these symbolic fishing village products have all become the stars of the 3D paintings. The artworks were created by teacher Chen Chien, who thoughtfully marks the best photo spots, allowing visiting travelers to easily snap great pictures!
