Ciaoshang Moon World Introduction
Cao Shan Moon World in Zuozhen District features a grayish-green limestone landscape made up of sandstone and shale, connecting with the mudstone badlands in Neimen, Tianliao, and Yancha districts of Kaohsiung City, collectively known as the chalk landform. Due to the soft geology and the cutting of the surface by rivers like Caoshan Creek and Ganglin Creek, the area is characterized by rugged mountains and cliffs, with ridges appearing serrated. The high alkalinity of the chalk soil makes it difficult for vegetation to thrive, leaving only drought-resistant thorny bamboo to grow in the barren land. The road from Ganglin Village to Cao Shan Moon World showcases the distinct angular landforms along with the lush scenery of thorny bamboo.
