Fangyuan Museum of Art Introduction
Fangyuan Art Museum is one of the most artistic and beautiful buildings in Jiangjun District. The museum has had two identities in the past: it was the former residence of Huang Qingwu, the first village head of Jiangjun, known as Suiyuan, and also Huang's clinic for public welfare, called Suisheng Hospital. Built in 1944, the architectural highlight is its courtyard design combined with arched corridors, merging Eastern and Western architectural features, which was considered very avant-garde at the time. After being renovated by the Fangyuan Cultural and Artistic Foundation, it has become the current Fangyuan Art Museum, showcasing many contemporary artworks. The former owner, Huang, had his study and relics, as well as old photographs, preserved within, allowing visitors to appreciate the lifestyle and taste of early artists as well as the artistic works of modern creatives.
