Hsuan Kong Temple Introduction
Xuan Kong Fa Temple is located near Zengwen Reservoir. It was built in 2002 by the founding abbot, Master Quan Zhen, to promote the "Mysterious Sky Prajna Wonderful Dharma" and guide devotees and those with affinity in their practice. The temple includes the "Dharma Protecting Hall," which enshrines the Bodhisattva Kṣitigarbha, and the Guanyin Hall, dedicated to Avalokiteśvara. It was selected as the top religious site in Taiwan. In addition to its magnificent temple architecture, Xuan Kong Fa Temple is famous for its landscaping, emphasizing the natural environment to teach the masses. The temple's treasure, the "Buddha Heart Seal Sacred Stone," weighs 152 tons and is engraved with a large character for "Buddha" as well as the complete text of the "Heart Sutra." The garden features towering stalagmites and stone pillars, creating a serene and contemplative landscape.
